The Amazing Spider-Man will be released for the PC in August, Activision has announced.
The title will be available through Steam on August 10, alongside a fresh batch of Achievements, reports CVG. No reason was offered for the delay.
The Amazing Spider-Man is available now in North America and later this week in Europe. It releases ahead of the movie of the same name, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans.
The game is developed by Beenox Studios, the team behind Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Its debut trailer was shown at the Spike Video Game Awards in December 2011.
Spider-Man creator Stan Lee will appear as a playable character for users who pre-order the title from GAME.
'The Stan Lee Adventure Pack' features a mission where the writer must collect pages of his latest script using Spider-Man's abilities.
The Amazing Spider-Man movie will be released on 3D, IMAX and conventional screens on July 3 worldwide.
This addictive loot filled action RPG is a direct copy of the sleeper PC game in 2009 that you do not want to miss for the XBLA. The controls are a bit confusing at first since the developers are used to mouse clicking and menu clogged inventory systems, but nonetheless this game is awesome for the RPG lover. Runic Games is back with an amazing remake, and keeps customers happy by keeping the cost low, and the entertainment level high!
Torchlight is set in the town of… you guessed it, Torchlight, and you play the town’s hero who is determined to find out what is going on below the city in the mines. The storyline isn’t very important in this game. I know you are wondering why that is, but give the game the benefit of the doubt. Your character isn’t looking for a monster, pirate, evil geniuses or anything along those lines. You are looking for one thing, and that is loot. Loot is what drives this game as you sell everything you have for it, die for it, and risk everything. There are different types of equipment that covers from head to toe and different jewels that fit into sockets that can make your armor into a rare beauty.
There are different “levels” of loot you can grab, and if you have played World Of Warcraft or Runescape, then you know exactly what I am talking about. Runic uses a item-noun system for randomly generated loot. Kind of like how Borderlands’ gun engine is run, no gun is the same. A weapon dropped from a random enemy can be worthless, or it could be so awesome that you need to wait a few levels to be able to control it.
Before you head into Torchlight you need to pick a character type. Like any other RPG you have the same character types; Melee, Ranged, or Mage. Each type favors a different technique, but every character can find different “scrolls” that teach them how to use different spells to defeat their next enemy. Different powers, gear, weapons, and spells, there is almost no limit to what you can do in this game. Aside from that, you can also equip a pet! Your cat can be equipped with different types of jewels that can do different spells depending on the power the jewel holds.
Torchlight has some interesting but unique designs and effects, but there isn’t much of a variety. They lean towards the repetitive side, and this type of style easily loses my attention. I don’t like to jump from platform to platform that leads to a random staircase. There is also a bit of an overload problem when your character becomes more powerful. As your character levels up and the amount of spells can be increased, flashing lights and awesome explosions slow the game down and glitches very often.
Aside from the bad, the good thing about this game is that the developers did an awesome job at transforming from PC to platform. The controls are a bit confusing at first, but very easy to get used to once you play through it a bit. Potions are tied to the bumpers, melee is connected with the X button, and everything else is associated with the trigger and other face buttons. This game does the have option to go multiplayer, but Torchlight plays best when it is played alone.
Some suspected that Sleeping Dogs would never see the light of day. Originally slated as True Crime: Hong Kong, Activision terminated the United Front development, only for it to be picked up by Square Enix, dropping the True Crime name in the process.
Fast forward to present day and we can expect Sleeping Dogs to launch in Summer 2012 and we've had the chance to play through several sections of the new title on the Xbox 360 at a one-on-one session with Square Enix.
Although the game is nearing completion, we didn't play sequential sections of it, so we don't know exactly how the story plays out. However, we'll be disclosing some elements of the plot in our quick review, naturally, so consider that your spoiler alert.
We also weren't playing final code - in fact, it was alpha marked - although that didn't detract from the excellent gameplay and the chance to experience the variety of action that Sleeping Dogs has to offer.
Sleeping Dogs is set in Hong Kong. You play Wei Shen, a cop in deep cover with the Hong Kong Triads. You're working to take down the organisation, piece by piece, from the inside. It's an open world game and although story driven, there is plenty to do along the way if you fancy a distraction, with side missions, collectibles and so on.
The only game that gives players the ability to be in real world events, Medal of Honor Warfighter lets you experience the action as it might have taken place in the field.
The new Medal of Honor Warfighter game is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from an elite, international community. This personal story was written by actual Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas. In it, players step into the boots of these warfighters and apply unique skill sets to track down a real global threat, in real international locations, sponsored by real enemies. It doesn’t get any more authentic than Medal of Honor Warfighter, available now.
